Trewint Farm was selected and filmed extensively for a DVD production showing a year on a UK livestock farm. The South Devon herd feature throughout and provides a unique insight into this traditional breed.

Trewint Farm in Cornwall is renowned throughout the world for its prize winning herd of South Devon cattle; a lineage that dates back to the farm's very beginnings. Stuart Rowe purchased Trewint just after the war. It is now owned and managed by Stuart's son, Peter with assistance from his own son, Ashley.

This film follows a complete farming year showing many of the processes that go into running and maintaining a modern, successful livestock farm. The South Devon herd is featured throughout affording a unique look at this most placid of the traditional breeds.

Also featured are the Suffolk and Border Leicester sheep flock, a visit to Liskeard's 'Wool Factory' and an extensive look at the bovine TB testing regime following a TB outbreak at Trewint in 2007.

Narration and commentary is given by Stuart, Peter and Ashley Rowe along with input from Robert Baxter (veterinarian), Diggory Truscott (shearer), Harvey Matthews and others.

An additional item on the DVD is a featurette with Caroline Poultney (secretary of the South Devon Herd Book Society) and Philip Warren (proprietor of the local family run chain of butchers) detailing the history of the South Devon breed and why it is becoming increasingly popular today.
